Happy Birthday Abigail!!!!!

Abigail is 7 today! We had a birthday party for her last week to celebrate.

She started 2nd grade and had a birthday. It was an awesome day.

Abigail is a sweet, beautiful little girl. She makes us all smile and loves to giggle. She has lots of friends and couldn't wait to go to school today. Corbin and Abigail love to play and are so silly in our house. She had a wonderful day. She loved having us sing to her and enjoyed all the birthday wishes. We love you Abby and Happy Birthday!!

First Day of School

It was a big day. Corbin started Kindergarten and Nathan started Middle School. Mom got left home by herself (I found ways to keep busy but I missed them!) Corbin has been counting down the days and was so excited to finally go to school. He is excited to be in Ms. Balla's class. She has taught Nathan, Elizabeth, and Abigail so he already knows her and we know he will love her class. Both of the girls got the teachers they were hoping to get this year so they are thrilled too. The boys didn't have much to tell us about their day but the girls always fill us in on the funny stories and details of the day. The kids are in kindergarten, 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, and 10th grade. Everyone decided to walk Corbin to school this morning. It was pretty cool to see they so excited for Corbin too. He got a little quiet and asked me if I would take him to school this morning but overall he didn't seem worried about school. He wasn't sad to have his mommy leave him.

Here is a picture of everyone ready for school and a few of Corbin at his first day of Kindergarten. What a huge milestone!

For Grandma....

At the Beach

A little more of our trip to Galveston (I know I am slow getting these up!)

The condo had two different pools we could swim at. One had a lazy river and on our arrival we found out that the crabs would come up the shore at night and many would end up falling into the pool. We spent two mornings going diving for crabs in the lazy river. Hollie did all the catching the first morning since the boys were fishing but the second day all the kids got into it and caught the crabs. Corbin had a new best friend. He carried the bucket of crabs around and swam with them all morning. He would take one out and carry it around. Even Sophia decided she liked the crabs and was holding them. After swimming all morning we would take our bucket out to the bay and help save the crabs and release them back into the ocean. The younger kids were so excited to show the crabs to the older boys when they got back from fishing and let them know we caught 8 crabs while they went fishing.

Corbin and Abigail at the clubhouse pool. The big kids found a game room and played pool and air hockey while we stayed outside and swam. We walked out the to the beach and played in the sand and waves then came back to the clubhouse to swim for awhile. It was a beautiful place and we really enjoyed relaxing and having fun together.

Abigail by the lazy river.

Braden and Nathan were out enjoying the waves as much as possible. The enjoyed the wave board and splashing in the waves.
The grand sand castle.
Tanner and Aiden flying a kite.
In doors the boys had fun too. The DS was a favorite activity (when they were not kicked of and told to go play). The boys didn't even have to play themselves. They loved Tanner's skill on the DS to help them. They would sit and watch him play all day.
Our condo was very nice. We had three bedrooms and even with 14 people we fit fairly well. A couple kids had to double bunk but they didn't mind. There was room for kids to play, a nice kitchen, and a living room to hang out in watching TV and playing games. There were lots of new card games taught and the kids had fun playing with us.
In the evenings when the tide was out we enjoyed exploring the bay. Hollie, Ethan, Elizabeth, and Braden went out far our last night there and found hermit crabs, clam shells, and other sea creatures. They had to walk out in the mud and go exploring and had a great time. Abigail couldn't quit handle the squishy slippery mud so we turned back and took pictures instead. It was beautiful out there as the sun went down.

Fishin in the Bay

Grandma, Grandpa, Mark and the boys went out fishing one morning in the Galveston Bay. They had a great trip. Everyone caught fish and the boys enjoyed hanging out with their grandparents and Mark.

Nathan had the biggest Shark catch of the day on the ship. It was about 24" and way cool! He also caught a total of 5 fish. Mark did a lot of helping boys with the fishing and caught a few himself. Braden and one of his catches.

Grandpa and Grandma enjoying the boat ride.

The biggest catches of the day on the ship (not caught by us but maybe in a future trip!) Everyone enjoyed the morning on the boat. The boys thought it was the best time of the trip. The first stop fishing was by the sunken ship and everyone was catching. The were baiting with cut up squid and it was pretty gross and messy but the fish were really great to catch. The captain moved the boat after awhile and the waves were strong causing a few of our fishermen to move up top and try to breath the fresh air and keep from getting too sick. Even with the rocking boat the reports of the morning was that it was definitely a great morning.

NASA

Our second day on our vacation was spent at NASA. There was a display for Indiana Jones and Star Wars there so we got to see the exhibits from the movies. We wandered through the displays and played in the play area for the kids. Everyone had fun.

Tanner Braden and I also played a game shooting Nerf balls. My aim isn't very good and I got a couple in for the team but helped the other team get one too! Braden go about 10 in. He is a pretty good shot. Tanner said he got a lot in too. My skill was just luck if the ball went in the target.

The rest of our trip was spent at the beach in Galveston... more pictures to come!

Children's Museum

We had a wonderful vacation a couple weeks ago and I thought I should finally start posting a little about our trip. The kids and I went with Grandma, Grandpa, Hollie, Mark and her kids. Daniel was off hiking in New Mexico with the scouts. He was missing us but probably not too much because he loves to hike! We probably missed him more. :)

On our first day of the trip we went to the Children's museum in Houston. We had a blast and spent several hours there. The kids tried everything and all found a few favorite activities.

Aiden carefully balancing his ring to travel on the moving turn table.

Sophia and Abigail at the sand table. Outside there was a nature center and a water play area.

Tanner and Elizabeth making boxes with a diecut.

Nathan was completely surrounded in his tower! All the kids help Tanner and Braden build this and trap Nathan. He had to be toppled over to break out.

Abigail got a job in the KidCity working as a Cashier. She looked up each item and carefully rang them up. The apron was a must to be a cashier.
Tanner and Corbin... my favorite picture. They are handsome!
